After 3 officially launched Tournaments, the number of participants and the amount of reward have soared greatly. However, we have spotted many situations where players are unsporting, which affected the tournament final results and others’ experience. Therefore, we are going to implement special algorithms onto the match history tracking system in order to guarantee fairness for the whole community.
What is unsporting behavior? How does it affect other players?
We have analyzed players’ behavioral patterns according to their match history and built a regulation adding a “flaw” point for each time an account violates it. The flaw point system is completely automatic based on the data gathered. If an account is recorded to have high unsporting behavior frequency and a high level of flaw points, it will be enforced into PvP mode restrictions (depending on the level of violation.) All players have to agree to the terms and conditions of the Commitment Policy implemented by developers before joining PvP mode.
Popular UNSPORTING BEHAVIORS frequently seen in PvP matches:
- AFK (Away from Keyboard) or repeatedly Disconnecting: Players who commit AFK do not interact within the match, negatively affecting others’ game experience and time. Flaw level: Average.
- Using multiple accounts to match-up and boost account’s ELO: This negatively affects in-game balance and is very unsporting and discouraging for other players. Flaw level: Very high.
- Making use of bugs/cheats to gain victory, causing imbalance within the game. Flaw level: High
*NOTE: If players are inclined that penalties applied on their accounts are unjust, players can directly reach out to the Admin (Discord: Skunk | Faraland#9376). We will be double-checking and reviewing the case.
When an account reaches a flaw point limit and is restricted (to longer match-making or match-making lockdown), there will be a special announcement sent to the account. Players only have one way to get free of the penalty which is playing a certain number of highly sporting matches.
We hope that with these new rules, the Faraland community will healthily grow day by day and an outstanding, highly-participated and tournament will be commenced every season.
What is Faraland
Faraland is a role-playing strategy wargame for Android and iOS, developed on blockchain by MoonKnight Labs, a company based in Vietnam. The players control the characters of 7 races: Humans, Orcs, Elves, Fairies, Dragonborns, Angels, and Demons — each with different abilities, strengths, intelligence, and agility, to fight with other players in a universe called Faraland.
Faraland is an innovation project combining NFT technology and gaming experience. Not only are all exquisitely digital collectibles created using blockchain technology, but all NFT in Faraland can also be integrated into Faraland games later, which will help them increase the value. NFT is the soul of this project. Each Hero, NFT of Faraland, is unique. Each collectible is matchless, genuine, and varies in rarity. Faraland Universe has many different races like Human, Orc, Angel, Demon, Dragonborn, Elf, and Fairy, awaiting the users to discover.
Faraland is different compared to other NFT projects where NFT is solely used for collection. With many exciting gaming activities, Faraland’s users can use their NFT heroes in many unique ways, from equipping them with powerful weapons or shining armors to engaging them in various thrilling battles. It’s a solid and exciting game with a fundamental and engaging storyline. We also focus on the “play and earn” mechanism, making Faraland far beyond a regular game. A variety of options are also available for users, including reinvesting in the game, making your heroes stronger, or cashing out. Our vision is to make Faraland a “dream job” by providing players worldwide opportunities to generate regular income from the project.
